SWIMMING LESSONS

Learning is sweet!

We are two retired teachers who love to watch kids learn. We have spent a lot of time with children and are understanding and supportive of all kinds of learners.

We are excited to teach swimming life-skills in a warm and loving environment. As your swim coach, we will be encouraging and empowering, firm but fun as we help each swimmer achieve his/her swimming goals.

Swim Levels

These are our own Lollie levels, and each level could be any age student. You will let us know at which level you think your child is starting.

  • Swimming Happy: (Level 1)
Learning to trust us to hold them in the water, kick, splash, play and maybe blow bubbles which will encourage their face to get wet. Ideally, we can advance to floating on our back in a relaxed position. The program is intended to develop in young children a comfort level in and around the water, as well as a readiness for learning to swim. This program is not designed to teach children to become accomplished swimmers.
  • Swimming with Intention: (Level 2)
Swimming with intention is when the swimmers know how to turn in the water, hold their breath, and propel properly. They can swim away from the wall, turn around and swim back and grab the edge.
  • Swimming Safe: (Level 3)
Being able to swim across the pool and pop up for a breath without struggling. If the swimmer fell into the deep end they could catch a mouthful of water, recover and turn and swim back to the wall.
  • Swimming Strong: (Levels 4-6)
Swimming is strong enough to cross the pool, now it’s time to build on previous skills and learn new strokes and forward entry tehniques. Level 4 - I teach students to coordinate the front crawl, back crawl, and underwater swimming. The elementary backstroke and the fundamentals of treading water may be introduced. Level 5 The breaststroke, sidestroke, and the basics of turning at a wall may be introduced. Level 6 The butterfly, open turns, and forward-entry from seated and kneeling position are introduced. Participants learn to perform the front crawl and back crawl for increased distances and to perform the sidestroke and breaststroke.
  • Sensory Exercise 1:1 :
If your child needs less of a lesson, and more of a sensory exercise please sign up for one of our sensory exercise lessons for 1:1 support. Our sensory exercise lessons are only in June.
