ALL ABOUT WHY MISS TRONA STARTED

Teaching young children has been my passion for as long as I can remember. As a young adult, I had the privilege of working alongside moms and grandmas in our church nursery for years, gaining hands-on experience and a front-row seat to nurturing children with love and care. Through teaching, playing, and creating meaningful learning experiences, I discovered the joy of helping little ones grow. Choosing elementary education as my degree path was an easy decision—teaching has always been my calling. Even during college, my part-time job was in after-school care at an elementary school, and my summers were spent working in daycares. Now, even in retirement, I continue to do what I love, working part-time at a unique private school in McKinney. Working with children brings me so much joy! Whether it’s sharing my books, my kitchen, or my pool, being part of their learning journey is truly rewarding. I spent nine wonderful years as a stay-at-home mom to my three daughters, and those moments I will always treasure. While I’m not officially a grandmother yet, I do have several grand-pets—including my grand-dog, Ranger, who calls me Lollie! Looking forward to the day I have grandkids of my own, but in the meantime, I am excited to share my love of learning, time, and care with your little ones. -Miss Trona

THE DYNAMIC DUO
When my husband and I moved into our current home, we were fortunate to meet our wonderful neighbor, Miss Shawnda. As we got to know each other, we quickly realized we shared many common interests. I told her all about my job at TKC, and she was so intrigued that she called to interview right away! When I later shared my idea of teaching swim lessons, she was just as excited and ready to dive in. Now, this dynamic duo is gearing up for a summer full of fun and learning!
